Married but available launch invitation@abhijitbhaduri.com

The book is being launched for the media to give them a sneak peak ahead of the others. It is going to be a small event. So I just thought of inviting all of you to join me on this very very special moment. Besides the media it is important to have some friends to share the special moment. Right?

If you want a more legible version of the invitation then click this link.

The book will be launched at 6.30pm on Sat 20 Sep 08 at the Crossword Bookstore at Select Citywalk Mall in Saket, New Delhi. I want to have one of you to launch this book – why have celebrities launch a book that they have perhaps not even read. So I thought I should have a reader launch it.

You may recall that I had sought readers ideas on plotlines. I have certainly been influenced by some of them. Those ideas have triggered off thoughts that helped write. So if you want a sneak peek – come over and bring your friends along.

I am trying to get two of my friends to enact a small piece of the book. Ummm… more when we meet.

From Science Fiction to Short Stories, the publishers are ready to pull out their trump cards. With a growing confidence in everything Indian, the Indian reader is also ready to give Indian writers a chance to share stories that are desi and in a language that feels real. The trick is perhaps to find a reason to share them with the world. A book becomes a natural outlet to share the author's inner world with the readers'. ps: how do u write books, blog and handle HR leadership all at a go ? juggler vein?

  • Hi I am the bald guy who tagged his nagging galfriend along who wanted to see a movie rather than go to a “boring book launch.” The dirty looks she threw at me all the way from Gurgaon to Delhi made it very clear what would happen to me if the book somehow slipped even a quarter of an inch from the level to which I had hyped it.

Well just to let you know …thanks for kepping my “ijjat” intact. I have already been able to infect a lot of ppl (including my galfreind) to read the book. Most of them are still sane and smiling ! :) ( Vivian and Pankaj said thanks ! Pankaj liked the “pankaj” written in hindi )

Swimming in this “beach” of a life, your book was a relaxing read !

    Pls keep writing !

Times of India invites practitioners to have a webchat at Timesjobs.com. It was my turn to answer questions on 1st Feb 2012. I wish there was a way to have a “conversation” and not a Q&A. On second thoughts that may be hard to do with 2500 people at the same time. Several people had difficulty signing on and the server was down for a while during the chat. These technical hassles apart, this was fun. Raghavendra: What is a [...]

I was at the Kailash Kher concert at the IIM-Bangalore grounds on 29th Jan 2012. This is a fabulous time of the year for music. From October to February as the weather cools down across India, it has been the tradition to get the musicians to strut their wares. This is show time folks. From Indian classical music concerts that start in the evening and end up in the wee hours of the morning, these concerts have seen the launch [...]

    Coaching Classes for Parents

The Bollywood film Taare Zameen Par was perhaps a coaching class that the nation attended, on understanding, how to deal with a kid with dyslexia. It showed us the frustration that parents encounter because of their ignorance of the child’s condition. They believe that their son is plain lazy and is shirking work in school.  The movie brought awareness of learning disabilities and jolted the audience to ask whether they were being just as unreasonable with their children as the [...]

    Being Unreasonable and Impractical

This is the season for making resolutions. Everyone is making them. As I make up my mind about what resolution I should make, a little voice tells me that in order for me to achieve what I set out to; I must do what is practical and what is realistic. Being practical is defined as “likely to succeed or be effective in real circumstances; feasible.” Being realistic is defined as “expressing an awareness of things as they really are.” The [...]
